Endangered Properties

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! Brady Bunch house could be demolished.

July 21, 2018

Say it ain’t so!!!! There is a possibility that the iconic Brady Bunch house could be demolished by a developer! The house has gone on the market with a listing price of almost $1.9 million! The original homeowners, George and Violet McCallister purchased the home in 1973 for $61,000! They passed away, and now their children are selling it.

The exterior of the home was used for the Brady Bunch episodes, while the interior was not used. The interior is a flashback to the 1970’s. Down to the wall intercom system. The fear is that in recent years other homes in the area have been torn down and new homes built on the lots. The owners hope this doesn’t happen and will try to focus on offers that keep the home intact.

Don’t fret too much though, it is being reported by Fox News that *NSYNC singer, Lance Bass wishes to buy it! He stated on the Big Brother after show, ‘Off the Block’:

The iconic Studio City, California, house that served as the exterior of the Bradys’ home (interior shots were actually filmed in a Los Angeles studio) is for sale for the price of $1.88 million, CBS Los Angeles reports. And Bass wants to buy it.
“I’m obviously obsessed with ‘The Brady Bunch.’ I mean, I grew up watching that show. Reruns! Reruns,” he told “Off the Block” host Ross Mathews about his interest in the series, which ran from 1969 to 1974. “I’m going to go look at it, because I want to buy this house.”

All I know is if the Brady Bunch were on Netflix, I would binge watch it! I remember I couldn’t wait to watch it after school. My favorite episode was the time when Marsha gave the girl at school a makeover and she ended up being very popular. What was your favorite?
