May is National Historic Preservation Month, and we encourage everyone with a love for historic properties and historic preservation to get involved in this year’s nationwide photo contest.
Celebrate National Historic Preservation Month along with the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, the National Park Service, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation by entering the National Historic Preservation Month Photo Contest! Everyone is invited to share photos of themselves, family, and friends enjoying a historic place on their own social media sites simply by using the hashtag #MyHistoricPlace.
Add #theoldhouselife to your posts so we can see how many followers of this site are posting pictures of their favorite historic places!
One winner will be picked weekly and announced each Tuesday in May on the ACHP’s social media sites. Winners will receive a fabulous historic preservation prize package!
Starting May 1, enter the photo contest by posting a photo using the hashtag #MyHistoricPlace (and #theoldhouselife) on your Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram feeds. You are then automatically entered in the contest!
You must tag the ACHP @USACHP, the National Park Service @NationalRegisterNPS (Facebook), @NPSCLP (Instagram), and @NPSParkCLP (Twitter), and the National Trust for Historic Preservation @savingplaces and you must also include a brief caption that includes the name and location of the historic place. DON’T FORGET to tag @oldhouselife (Old House Life- Michelle Bowers) and add#oldhouselife!
