Would you restore this? Five acres in Arizona. $200,000

June 30, 2026

If money were no object, would you restore this stone cabin? I would! The terrain is so interesting to me. The house was built in 1942. It is located on five acres in Bisbee, Arizona. The stone house features stone walls, concrete floors and an amazing stove. With some work and reimagining of this space, it could make a nice vacation spot! One bedroom, one bathroom and 714 square feet. $200,000

From the Zillow listing:

A total of 43.4 acres being sold in the coveted Banning Creek area 3 miles from Old Bisbee. There are 2 parcels– 110-50-003 is 4.6 acre with a Stone cabin that was built by the owner’s grandfather and has been in the family since. The other 38.8 acre contiguous parcel is vacant land. This steep parcel offers stunning views as seen in the pictures. The cabin is connected to Hiway 80 by a 100 yard treelined driveway. The cabin is nestled in an oak grove overlooking Banning Creek 20 feet below. The cabin is beyond sturdy, built with native stone, a concrete pad and a metal roof. Inside- the ceiling material was recently removed showing wood in great shape. Possible to remove and go with a cathedral ceiling. The cabin is gutted essentially making a redesign that much easier. there is a wood burning cook stove, piano and a wood burning fire place. The original septic is in place but would need redress. Water was originally brought down from a cistern across the highway in galvanized pipes, that still exist, but the link to the cistern does not. Proximity to Banning Creek would bode well for a well. Presently there is not a power connection. APS has a pole approx 100 feet from the cabin and the owner is in the process of investigating what the connection cost would be. There is a large open area below the cabin along the creek that is connected by a concrete staircase with hand rail. The vacant assessor parcel number is 110-50-001c. The tax is $764,38.813 Acres.
