Save This House! Willa Cather Birthplace, Circa 1810. On 6 acres in Virginia. $200,000

April 12, 2023

Save this house! Such a shame it has gotten to this condition! This was the birthplace of author, Willa Cather. This property is a Virginia Landmark Property and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is a perfect example how being on the National Register does not protect a home. This house originally started out as a log home, It was built in 1810. It is located on 5.87 acres in Virginia. There is a second home on the property that was built in 1920. If this house is truly to be saved, that price needs to come down. Hoping there will be interior pictures in the coming days. There is a description stating there is faux grained wood and hardwood floors in the earlier house. I did find a couple of older pictures of the home that I included. Will keep checking for more pictures. Four bedrooms, one bathroom and 2,561 square feet. $200,000
