Tunnel behind the house! So unique! Circa 1900 in Tennessee. $325,000

July 17, 2022

This is such a unique looking house! There is a tunnel behind the house that locals say was used by confederate troops and was part of the underground railroad. Would love to see what documentation they have for that. It is cool looking. This home was built in 1900 by Jones Smith, a local stone mason. The home is located on .30 acres in Pulaski, Tennessee. The home was constructed with limestone by Mr. Smith. The house features hardwood floors, arched windows and some bead board. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 2,500 square feet. $325,000

From the Zillow listing:

This house is very unique with it’s Italianate Style Architecture made with Lime Stone that was built in 1900. A resident of the town, Jones Smith was a Stone Mason and handyman. He labored on his days off and after his regular work hours to create this very special house. He helped build the old Methodist College in the town which is now home to the University of Tennessee. He was also known to have built one of the local churches. This home is a one of a kind gem! Being that this house is very old, it does need a few things repaired. A new water heater, upgraded plumbing and some dry rot repair are needed. Behind the house there is a closed Cave that was used by the Underground Railroad & Confederate Troops. 3% To Buyer’s Agent…No Seller’s Agent…I Do Not Need Help Selling…
