Oaklawn was originally located just south of Refugio, Texas. In 1900 the house was moved to it’s current location. The home was built in the 1850’s for Allen and Martha Heard. It is located on 3.87 acres in Refugio, Texas. Their son, Mr. J.F.B. Heard planted oak trees around the home. After his death the home was named Oaklawn due to the trees. The house needs a lot of work. There were oak beams used in the construction of the house. They were brought to Texas from Portsmouth, England. Cypress planking was brought from Georgia and Louisiana. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms and 4,352 square feet. $125,000
