156 acres in Magnolia, North Carolina. I love that old wheelchair up in the attic! Built in 1837. The columns on the front of the home were actually moved to this house from a home in Raleigh. The third floor was a dance hall back in the day and hosted many community dances. Six bedrooms, one bathroom, and 4,670 square feet. $449,900 New price: $399,900

This property has an 1837, large, 3 story, 4670+sq ft, historic plantation home on the front of the property. It has been in the remodeling stage for quiet some time, as the present owner and her late husband had dreams of bringing this home back to life. Massive columns were moved from another very old home near Raleigh, NC to give the home it’s bold, front appearance. Each room and floor of this home has lots of history to it; the 3rd floor even being a dance hall a very long time ago. 6 bedrooms, 1 bath as it is right now.
The land is now being used as farmland and hunting land by the local hunting club. It could possibly have multiple future purposes. There is also a pond on the land, along with some river frontage on the back of the land.
The house could either be restored by the right buyer or disassembled and the building products sold off, as the wood is original throughout the home, along with the very expensive columns on the front and other historic pieces of the home.

What I love about the home
The massive columns in the front of this history-filled home represent the size of the beauty of this entire property, in a complete package. So much love and fun has filled this home since 1837, from the community dances in the 3rd story long, long ago to the love the current owner has given this home over 46 years. If only these walls could talk… The home is a gem in itself in so many ways, but the land surrounding the home is a treasure of it’s own, as well. With 156 acres of beautiful land surrounding the house and reaching far behind where the home sits, there’s enough variety to please everyone! From a fishing pond to farm land to woods with awesome hunting, this property has it all for the buyer who can appreciate the tranquility of the country setting and the historic value of the home. Of course, the buyer will need to enjoy renovating or having the means to have the home renovated; even though it hasn’t been too long since it was lived in. It has had lots of years of TLC and lots of renovations have been done, just most not completed. It still needs a lot of TLC to bring it back to it’s original stateliness, but what a unique jewel you would have in the end! Are you the special person who will take on this diamond in the rough and turn it into your mansion in the country? We would love to give you more info on the history and condition of the home and land if you’re that special person ready to make this home what it deserves!
