Dr. Thompson House Video. Circa 1910 on one acre in Creedmoor, North Carolina. $300,000

October 11, 2019

I love this house! If I didn’t need to be close to a certain area for my daughter’s school, I seriously would consider this house! It felt loved and like a warm and happy home. I posted the video tour at the top of this post. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to load. By time you read this and look at pictures the video should be ready. I was contacted by a lady in Georgia, Rita Simpson, this was her brother’s home. Sadly, he died in 2017. He had no family of his own as he was never married. So the home went to his sister. She hates to sell it as her brother loved his home and he had so many plans for it that he never got to complete, but she lives in Georgia to be near her grandchildren.

This home was built in 1910. It was the town doctor’s home. There is one room off the side of the house that was his office. His patients would sit in the foyer area waiting to be seen. As it is with many older homes, they transform over the years and this one was no different. What is currently the dining room was Mrs. Thompson’s bedroom. Mr. Thompson slept in a different room. That was the thing back then, but it was also because he often had night calls to go out on. The current den in the home was the original dining room. Under the rug is the old call button for the servants. If you watch the video you will hear a few interesting stories and history about the house. I sure hope a nice family or someone buys this home. It needs life in it.

There are original hardwood floors, baseboards and bead board. The doors are all original and nice solid doors with original hardware. The bathroom upstairs has a claw foot tub and an original built-in. Built in 1910. Located on 1.01 acres in Creedmoor, North Carolina. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,909 square feet. $300,000
