Drive is on White Store Rd Behind the clubhouse!! Welcome to the Major J. B. Ashcraft home!!! According to the history of this home, it was built  approximately  1870. Tax records say 1901.  Mr. Ascraft was a civil war veteran and was known as being a doctor of veterinary medicine and farmer. The wrap around porch with double front doors lead to a wide foyer. Many of the window have the original shutters. The original staircase remains along with the upstairs railings. The view from the 2nd story balcony is beautiful!  The area was named Rock Rest because the front yard had a natural spring and travelers would stop to water their horses and rest. This is a piece of history. Needs work but what a showplace it could be! 2,6 acres has been surveyed out of large tract. Drive can be very muddy at times. Has well, but part of pump parts missing  Home faces White Store Rd and that is where the drive is located. Directly behind Rock Rest Clubhouse. Acreage being cut out of larger tract.
