January 9, 2019

Five acre farmette in North Carolina. Not many interior pictures. I want all of the animals, especially that duck. Built in 1894 with additions in 1938 and 1987. Located on 5.07 acres in Elon College, North Carolina. There is a 14 stall barn with power and well water. The barn is enclosed with a two acre wire fencing and there is access to a pond. The pond is stocked with catfish. An additional five acres is available for purchase. Four bedrooms, one bathroom, and 1,968 square feet. $175,000

From the Zillow listing:

Original “homeplace” built in 1894 with additions in 1938 and 1987. 3 bedroom 1 bath farmhouse is livable but in need of major renovation. 14 stall barn (with power and well) is in good condition and could easily be converted from a dairy barn into a horse barn. Barn is enclosed by a 2 acre woven wire fence with access to a large pond as water source for livestock. Several paddocks are attached and fenced in separately with electric fencing. 5+ acres are available to be added to the property for a total of almost 11 acre lot which would qualify property to be designated as “agricultral use” deferred tax exemption.

Pond is stocked with catfish. Many of the animals (ducks, chickens, goats and turkey) can remain if new owner desires to purchase an existing hobby farm.

Original smokehouse, 2 nut drying barns, corn crib, diesel fuel storage building and sawmill still exist on the 5 acre property. There are many black walnut and pecan trees on the property which provide an abundant supply of nuts each year as well as a 1/2 acre garden plot located beside the house.
